Course Reserve Planning Guide

We are happy to help you make materials accessable to students!

Putting an item on reserve ensures that a large number of people will be able to quickly access high need, high use, or one of a kind items.

Please consider putting a copy of course textbooks on reserve for students. Students frequently ask for textbooks at the library for many reasons including:

  • financial aid check has not arrived
  • waiting for textbook to arrive in the mail or at the bookstore
  • unable to buy the book
  • book was misplaced or stolen

Advance Planning is Appreciated

When preparing for a new quarter, please submit your requests at least 4 days in advance at the start of a quarter due to the high volume of requests.

If you would like to add items during the quarter, please allow at least 24 hours processing time.

Approximately 1,000 items are put on reserve each year.
