What is Information Competency?
Information Competency (IC), one of Pierce College's five Core Abilities, is the ability to seek, find, evaluate and use information to engage in lifelong learning.
Library faculty at Pierce College can help teaching faculty accomplish the IC outcome through instruction in library resources and research methods useful to any assignment or discipline.
"We don't do tours."
Instead, library faculty invite you to join us in designing library instruction tailored to your students' particular needs, in the context of your specific assignment.
That way we can target the skills and resources students need to successfully complete that assignment.
