What is It?

  • Gale Opposing Viewpoints in Context is a database that features a variety of perspectives on hundreds of controversial issues.
  • It contains many different types of sources including reference books, viewpoint essays, magazines, newspapers, journals, and multimedia.  

  • You can use the "browse topics" section to look for topic ideas or enter key words directly into the search box. 

 

 

Start at the Library Home page

To connect to the Gale Opposing Viewpoints database, start at the Pierce College library home page and choose the link from the Key Databases column.

 

Why Use It?

  • If you are a Pierce College student, you can access this source anytime and anywhere you have an internet connection.  When prompted, simply enter in your Pierce College ID number and last name

  • These are "real" books, essays, and articles by professional authors.  It isn't an online debate site that is open to anyone who would like to post comments.  These sources are thoughtful, well researched perspectives on controversial topics.
