Assignment & Outcomes

1. Write a proposal that explains how you would make a major reduction to your own or your family’s ecological (or carbon) footprint. 

2. Start with the base score that you establish, and then go back to the website to “tinker” with your lifestyle to generate some possible ideas about how you could reduce that footprint. 

3. Do the necessary research, using at least 5 credible and varied outside sources, to explore how you might implement realistic and yet meaningful changes that would make your lifestyle more ecologically friendly, answering your research questions with adequate research.  

          3a.Part of this proposal should include cost and time
              estimates for your changes
, as well as 
              analyses of obstacles to successful implementation. 

          3b. include a detailed discussion of the actual changes in your
               footprint numbers that your lifestyle changes created.
(Your goal should be to lower your imprint by at least
               1/3—for example, going from 3 down to 2 planets).

4. Your essay should be written as a research proposal, must integrate information from at least five credible sources properly documented in MLA format, and it should answer research questions with adequate research.
